New Pastor Comes For Zebulon Baptists (Continued from Page 1) versity, the other at Brenair Col lege in Gainesville, Ga. The couple has one child, Joseph Ernest, born December 8, 1959. Dr. Denver J. Davis, pastor of the young minister’s home church, the First Baptist Church of Gaff ney, said: “I do not know of any young man who has more native ability, combined with a fine mind, than does David. He is a young man with deep spiritual in sights, and is quite capable of do ing his own thinking. I have al ways found him most cooperative with an understanding heart and mind. I feel that he is spiritually qualified for the pastoral ministry as well as for a teaching position. David has a fine outgoing person ality, combined with a moral character beyond reproach. He is far more mature than his years would indicate and I feel that this is due to his emotional stability, as well as good old common sense.” Prof. Jesse H. Brown, professor of Old Testament at Croser Theo logical Seminary, said: “He has an extremely fine attitude toward the ministry. He has a real ability for working with people and getting people to respond to his leader ship. He is one of the best all round students I have taught at Croser.” “He is an excellent fellow in every respect,” Dr. Kenneth L. Smith, professor of Christian Eth ics at Croser, said. “He is well above average as a preacher. He has all the qualities of mind and character for either the teaching or pastoral ministry of the church.” “Mr. Daniel has an excellent voice and is a top-notch preach er,” said Robert S. Lowndes, di rector of Field Services of Croser. “He has a keen interest in people and a deep understanding of their needs. His mind is sharp and alert. He always makes a neat and fine appearance.” WAC's Offer Special Jr. Summer Program For Eligible Women First Lieutenant Mattie V. Or, rather, I agree with Uncle Sam’s Treasury Department, which recently saluted the women of America for 20 years of service in the U. S. Savings Bond Program. As the Treasury so aptly stated, “Thousands of husbands and fathers owe their Payroll Savings nest-egg to the influence of their wives. Many a boy and girl wouldn’t have a full Savings Stamp book, but for Mom. And many a bond would not be sold, but for women volunteers . . * * * * “DID YOU KNOW” DEPARTMENT — With your phone, you can make more than 122 million other phones in the world ring! * • * * WHY YELLOW? Why are the Yellow Pages of your telephone directory yellow? Why not blue, or pink, or purple? Did someone, back during the telephone’s infancy, like canaries? Not at all. (At least, that’s not the reason Yellow Pages are yellow.) The reason is purely scientific —determined by an eye specialist. Black print on yellow paper is the second most legible color combination! Black print on white paper is first, but that’s “taken” by the alphabetical section. * * * • VACATIONING SOON?
